Two more people have been arrested in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals were injured by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.
A 24-year-old man, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.
The arrests follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, two women were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.
A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and were later released.
Police detained a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault near the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.
Authorities were alerted at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several people hurt by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.
The attack - which police said was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - caused train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
